As the Raiding team grows we feel it is also time to reintroduce the Class Leader concept that we had in Wildstar.
The role of the Class Leader is to support the members of that class in all activities on WoW. While it is true that the majority of this will revolve around raid performance, it is important to understand that this is not the end of it. Their job is to support you in all matters to do with the guild, be in performance, concerns, grievances, ideas or anything else that is relevant to the Class or the people within it.
From a raiding perspective, your Class Leader is the one to go to if you need help, and they will likely reach out to you if they feel that there is the opportunity to help improve your raid output. As an example if your 'ilvl %' is below about 30-40 on our main raids, there is clearly room to improve, and your Class Leader is there to help you understand and implement any changes required.
For that reason, Class Leaders also tend to be one of the very best players of the class in the guild. Given that in WoW there are 3-4 specs per class, it isn't expected that they be an expert at all of them, but certainly an undisputed expert in one, familiar with at least a 2nd, and aware of all the relevant resources to help in those specs they are not so familiar with.
Being a Class Leader is more than numbers though. It is important to be a loyal member of the guild, be happy to share their time helping others, and be diplomatic. It is important to strike the difficult balance between being able to help people who may not not always welcome the input, with being so hands off that they are ineffective. At the end of the day a Class Leader is measured by the effectiveness and wellbeing of their class as a whole.
With all that said, we are pleased to announce the following people have accepted our offer to become Class Leaders:
Arrowmark has been one of the Guild's premier Hunters back to the old days in Cataclysm and has reprised that role in Legion, being a very solid member of the raid team since our return.
Belnalanorei has been a core radier since 2014 in Wildstar and is reknown for making weird specs work. In Legion, he has done crazy damage as a DK and has always been a top performer.
Dhiaga joined us for the first time in Legion and since then has combined great dps with top notch reliability. She has always been one of the most pro-active raiders in understanding upcoming changes and communicating them to the other DH's.
Elhin hopefully needs no introduction! But I've been in the Guild since I founded it on Alhanna in 2005 and have played a mix of Shadow and Holy ever since. I think I was also the only person to raid leader heroic Lich King using macros only ;)
Gemini predates even WoW by many years and he and I have worked together on games since the mid 1990's. He can always be guaranteed to execute mechanics flawlessly and as our longest serving Officer, to be a hugely important figure.
Karanthe joined us nearly 10 years ago, originally as her mage Danice, before swapping in Wrath to focusing on Karanthe for the good of the guild. Since then she has been an absolutely top notch healer and vital part of any raid team. She became an Officer in 2014 and has done a great job in that role.
Kenzie joined the guild in Wildstar and rapidly became one of our best and most relaible dps. Since returning with us in Legion he has been guild Main Tank and a core of our progression setup. He was made an Officer in June 2017.
Nahbyr has been a regular presence in the guild back to The Burning Crusade when he joined as the Hunter Nikasuke. Swapping to Holy Paladin to help bolster our healing team he has made that role very much his own ever since. He was made an Officer in June 2017.
Tinkercast joined the guild in 2007 and was a part of our very first formal guild raid team in Karazhan, playing the Dps/Tank Bablon and swapping to Mage more recently to help balance our range/melee split. Since then he has rapidly become one of our most effective ranged players.
Xanadu joined the guild in The Burning Crusade and has excelled at all elements of being a Druid ever since. Switching from Heal to Tank only recently to fill a raid gap, he has swiftly become irreplacable in his new role. Xanadu was made an Officer in June 2017.
Aero has been in the guild since the dim, murky recesses of history, originally as Painstalker. In Legion he has camped out on the top of the Dps charts, putting in near constant stellar performances both in terms of raw numbers and ilvl percentages.
All in all a great set of Class Leaders to help us progress swiftly through Tomb of Sargeras and beyond!
Congrats to all!
